Build Canada Power brings advanced CdTe “Power Glass” to Canada — solar glass that replaces roofs and facades while generating clean electricity for decades. One material: structure, weather protection and energy.
Power Glass is cadmium-telluride (CdTe) thin-film photovoltaics laminated into architectural safety glass. Instead of bolting panels onto a finished roof, the glass is the roof, facade, skylight or canopy — generating power wherever daylight reaches it, in opaque, colored or semi-transparent finishes.
Roofing, siding, skylights, canopies and curtain walls — one material instead of two.
Clean electricity for on-site use, battery storage or EV charging, wherever daylight reaches.
Engineered as a long-life building asset designed to last decades — not a bolt-on add-on.
CdTe thin-film behaves differently from conventional silicon — especially in a northern climate.
Engineered for a service life of up to 50 years with low annual degradation — designed to outlast the building systems around it.
A low temperature coefficient and good diffuse-light response can yield up to ~10% more energy than crystalline silicon at equal capacity, with no hot-spot losses.
Architectural safety glass: Class-A fire rating, withstands Ø35 mm hail and ≥5400 Pa loads, and sheds snow faster than conventional panels.
The cadmium is locked in a stable compound — it does not release in fire or leach when broken — and the glass is recyclable at end of life. RoHS-exempt.
Power Glass is a proven technology — internationally certified and built on one of the world's largest CdTe production lines, with hundreds of reference projects worldwide. Build Canada Power is bringing that manufacturing and assembly home to Alberta, backed by full testing and certification.
CSA certification for the Canadian market is currently underway — the gating step before broad Canadian sales. We'll publish it here the moment it's complete.
Each module is pre-engineered and repeatable, so it's quick to quote, build and finance. Pricing is provided on inquiry.
A power-generating garage for duplexes and laneway homes — energy, roof and shelter in one, with extra margin for the builder.
A solar-glass canopy with integrated EV chargers — for hotels, plazas and warehouses, drawing traffic while it generates.
Semi-transparent glass that grows crops and generates power at once — for farming and as the energy-and-heat partner for data centers.
A generating industrial building for owners and investors — utility-scale clean energy delivered as real estate.
Deployable off-grid power and workspace for mining, oilfields, highway and remote farm sites.
Specs, videos and inquiry for every module.
Beyond single buildings, BCP is developing integrated complexes where Power Glass greenhouses generate clean power for an on-site data center, and the data center's waste heat is recycled back to warm the greenhouses through Canadian winters — a circular system of energy, computing and food.
Explore complex projects →BCP is localizing assembly in Alberta and building a national supply-and-support network, so Power Glass projects are stocked, delivered, installed and serviced close to home — creating skilled Canadian jobs along the way.
Add a generating roof to a garage, home or laneway build. Homeowners get long-term energy savings; builders get a differentiated product and stronger margins.
Get a quote →Carports, facades and warehouses that cut energy bills, lift property value and add EV charging — clean energy built into the asset, not bolted on.
Discuss a project →Long-life generating assets, a circular greenhouse-plus-data-center model, and a Canadian rollout in progress. We welcome conversations with investors and channel partners.
